Two areas of life at Commonway we always want to be intentional are giving you opportunities to meet other people and providing meaningful ways for you to explore your faith, the Bible, and Jesus. This Summer, we’re pulling together two groups that give you some practical and flexible opportunities to do both.

Proverbs: The Way of Wisdom

This personal, 28-day study focuses on the application of biblical wisdom to our hearts and lives. This study will bring a two-fold approach to growth:

  • On your own: each day’s reading is organized by theme and is followed by a short series of questions to help you grasp the meaning of the text and then apply that day’s wisdom to your own life. This study is meant to be contemplative—light on the quantity of verses, and more focused on the thoughts, questions, and prayers that flow from them.
  • With others: over the course of four weeks you’ll have a chance to meet up with others who are walking through the same study. We’ll meet up on Sunday mornings before church, to reflect and share what we’ve experienced.

This study will begin on June 20. The group meetup will be from 9-10am, at the Convention Center, on the following Sundays: June 26, July 3, July 10, and July 17.

Digital or print versions of the study are available and provide the same study materials. The digital version is free, while the print edition is $24+shipping. (That is a bit pricey, but it’s a high quality product and makes for a great journaling experience. Something you may value if you want to reflect back on this study later.)

The Reason For God

This 6-part DVD series captures live and unscripted conversations with a group of people to address their doubts and objections to Christianity. Using literature, philosophy, and Scripture, Pastor Tim Keller and the group explore the truth of Christianity. This will be a great group for anyone who has doubts about Jesus and Christianity, as well as someone who has always been in church and wants to re-explore the questions that many are asking today.

  • This group will meet, from 7-8:30pm, on the following Wednesdays: June 22, June 28, July 13, July 20, July 27, and August 3 (no group meeting on July 6). We will meet at the Innovation Connector (1208 W. White RIver Boulevard).

[Note: This group was originally planned for Tuesday nights, but has been moved to Wednesdays because of a scheduling conflict. Please note the change to Wednesday nights.

  • This will be a casual, group setting. We’ll watch a 20-minute video, followed by a time for questions and discussion. Each week will be “standalone,” meaning anyone can come in at any point during the six weeks. One major question/topic will be considered each week, and additional study/reading materials will be available.
