TALK IT OVER
- The Easter message all rests upon the resurrection of Jesus. And the word “resurrection” is loaded with historical context and expectations. After hearing this message, how has your understanding of all that resurrection stands for change?
- In hearing the story of Jesus’ resurrection, we are ultimately left with two questions:
- Did this really happen?
- What does this mean for us and the world?
- Jesus says (in John 20), “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Believe in Jesus’s death and resurrection is an act of faith. What does that faith and belief look like in your life today?
- Jesus is described as being the “firstfruits,” or the beginning of God’s Kingdom breaking through (1 Corinthians 15). What is your reaction to that idea? Does it produce more hope or confusion? What can we do today to embrace the reality of Jesus’ resurrection and the promise of the present and future kingdom of God?
