Heaven
Small Group Questions from May 6th
We all have ideas and assumptions that we make about Heaven. Chances are, if we shared those ideas, we’d find differences, for sure, and plenty of similarities, as well. BUT….Make it your goal, at least while thinking and talking together for now, to put those assumptions aside. Instead, focus, reflect, and talk about these particular questions.
- Restoration…What does it mean? What does it look like?
- Read Matthew 6.9-10. Jesus’s life and teaching reveal that, through Him, there has been an invasion of Earth by the Kingdom of Heaven. How does that knowledge help frame the discussion of Heaven as the place of eternity?
- Read Revelation 21.1-5.
- If it’s God’s plan to restore the Earth, what does that tell us about Heaven? What does that tell us about God’s plan for us now?
- If it’s God’s plan to restore our bodies, what does that tell us about Heaven? What does that tell us about God’s plan for us now?
- If it’s God’s plan to restore our work, what does that tell us about Heaven? What does that tell us about God’s plan for us now?
- If it’s God’s plan to restore our relationships, what does that tell us about Heaven? What does that tell us about God’s plan for us now?
- If it’s God’s plan to restore us individually, what does that tell us about Heaven? What does that tell us about God’s plan for us now?
- If it’s God’s plan to restore our relationship with Him, what does that tell us about Heaven? What does that tell us about God’s plan for us now?
- Read Revelation 21.3 again. In the closing chapters of the Bible, we hear a voice from Heaven saying, “The dwelling place of God is with man.” If the restoration of creation will be made possible by the reunion of God and His people, then that must affect how we live now. So what is for you? How do you want and need to see God’s kingdom come now?
